For the last few weeks of school we are learning about how to be firewise as our inquiry topic. When the children were asked what they think fire is, this is what they said:
It’s flames and it hurts people. It keeps cats warm because they cuddle up next to the fire.

It’s like a rainbow. It goes all different ways. It’s crazy.
Austin
It’s hard stuff. It can burn you. When it’s in your home a fireman can hold off the fire.
Luca
It might burn down anything.
Kayla
It’s hot. It can burn down your house.
Moss
It’s a hot thing that goes in a metal thing.
Arlo
It burns people. It can burn a crane.
Jacob
It’s yellow. It burns. It’s dangerous.
Lennox
It can be red.
Esme
It is about blowing the house down.
