Athletics Day

On Thursday Kowhai syndicate had an athletics day. We did high jump, long jump, throwing, running, hurdles and relay races.

We had a relay race against the teachers. We ran so fast.

We had a fun day!

Long Jump

This week for no child left inside Jane has been teaching us about long jump.

we had to practice by jumping over the 'lazy river to start with...

We learnt how to take off on one foot

and land on two feet like we are riding a motorcycle...

 we got to try out our new skills in the long jump pit...

It was great to see so many who had really listened to Jane and tried hard to practice the techniques she taught us.

Discovery time

Every Friday we have discovery time for around an hour between morning tea and lunchtime.

Our focus this term has been taking turns and working as a team.

Here are some of things we have been doing during discovery time over the past few weeks.

We make amazing train tracks when we work together...

We made toast...

We have built towers...

We love playing outside with different equipment and kids from Renwick 2 and room 12a...

We create with play dough...

We made stuff at the creation station...
